The following 6 schools took part in the Yr 5 & 6 basketball tournament on Moday 21st March at the Simon Langton Boys School:

Chartham, Canterbury Primary, Wickhambreaux, St Peters, Nonington and Barham.

It was a really close competition and at one point there were 3 teams tying for 1st place. All schools showed some great basketball and teamwork. This was the first competition of this year to include the fair play award. The refs in secret scored each team on every game for their sportsmanship and the points were totalled at the end.

The games were refereed by the Canterbury High School's Basketball Academy and teams were coached and looked after by the Simon Langton Boys Sports Leaders.

The overall winners were Wickhambreaux who narrowly beat St Peters who were the runners up.

The team awarded with the fairplay award was St Peters, who showed great respect to officals and opposition throughout the festival.
